Project

My task was to design a logo for the International Society for the Sociology of Music Education. The challenge was to craft a dynamic logo that effectively conveyed the concepts of music and sociology without incorporating musical instruments.

Solution

To address this challenge, I opted to create a logo mark symbolizing sociology and the interconnectedness of people. To integrate music, I utilized the oval shape of a musical whole note to form the dots within the logo mark.

For the typography, I selected typefaces that exuded education and scholarship. Additionally, I aimed for a timeless quality in the type treatment, recognizing that discussions concerning the connections between people and the societal issues they encounter are continuous.
